The investment seeks results that, both over a single day and over time, match (before fees and expenses) the performance of the S&P 500® VIX Mid-Term Futures Index.
The fund seeks to meet its investment objective under normal market conditions by taking long or short positions in VIX futures contracts. It will also hold cash or cash equivalents such as U.S. Treasury securities or other high credit quality, short-term fixed-income or similar securities for direct investment or as collateral for Financial Instruments. The fund may invest up to 100% of its assets in any of these types of cash or cash equivalent securities.
